music pavillion
A paraphrase of the music pavilion… the performer and composer is the mineral spring itself. The architectural concept should evoke the calm and comfort of a living room, the salon for the listener of the “Cartellieri Serenade”. A spatial definition is provided for the spring: steel plates, a chair, a lamp, and a carpet. The design’s essential thought is to transform the gouts of spring water welling forth into traces of sound: the only “sense” that allows us
to experience the spring is hearing… as the spring is, thanks to its high CO2 content, not intended for drinking cures. Its tumultuous surface is the source of an aural experience, thanks to the special floating “wreath” with a series of rings of varying diameter and a central skewer.
