A study of a housing complex in a sensitive Prague location
The appeal of the site consists in the encounter of romantic morphology of the slate promontory with the interface of the intensive block-like structure and the loosely built-up area in the slope.
Within the mass concept of the housing settlement the encounter of the natural and urban is brought to a head by dynamic planting of the slope with tower-like masses of houses. They are layered in elevation planes and through views. Their slight spacing creates the impression of a deep space and airiness.
The tower form brings maximum flexibility of layouts and large scale of rooms in attractive corner location.
The very view of the tree tops from the corner window is the crucial moment of the design.
