Architectural proposal for utilization of the decaying cultural monument.
For the needs of the TV programme “Památky na prodej” (Sights for Sale) made by the Brno branch of Česká televise broadcaster, we have made an architectonic proposal for the suitable utilisation of the listed chateau in Štědrá. The objective was to define and utilise the character of the building, its relation to the surrounding countryside and the municipality and to find such use which would upvalue the uniqueness of the sight and at the same time show it as an attractive opportunity for investment.
The optimal option seems to be converting the dilapidating chateau into an old people’s home. By unifying the chateau with the farm buildings in the yard, it is possible to offer completely individualised apartments linked to the common area and the garden. A number of services may thus be secured providing senior citizens with comfort, municipality with job opportunities, and the sight with new life.
