A place that connects was the concept with which we entered the competition for the completion of the 4th quadrant of Vítězné náměstí. It is essential for us to respect the accepted tendencies of urban use and the position of the square in the dynamics of the city and the life of the district.

We keep the function of the circular Vítězné square mainly as a business-representational center of the city district of Prague 6. We emphasize the commercial character of Vítězné náměstí with a line of continuous shopping arcades connected to the Dejvická metro station. We estabilish a new cultural Piazetta on the other side of the block that functions as a more communal and cultural-social space. In the design, we reinforce the different characters of both squares.

The Piazzetta is a platform for a pair of public institutions, the VŠCHT and the Cultural Center, which, with their program and openness, nourish the cultural-business axis of Dejvice and stabilize its course at the border of the university campus. We see this space as a platform for open communication and as a gateway to the academic campus.

We believe in the synergy of both institutions, thanks to which the place can become an important focal point strengthening the role of the 4th quadrant, as the cultural and social center of gravity of Dejvice. This creates a rare connection, a hub that communicates both with the academic world and with the residents of Dejvice.
